Vismaya's PhD Research aims to characterize the composition and structural dynamics of reticular matter- the RNA-protein complex in immature red blood cells. She will investigate how Plasmodium infection destabilizes the reticular matter, and elucidate whether degradation drives reticulocyte maturation or the other way around using multi-omics approaches.
