Lakshmi uses biophysical and spectroscopic tools to study red cell maturation process and its influence on malaria parasite’s life cycle transitions, including expedited red cell maturation aided through exosome release. She also has a keen interest in the application of AI and pattern recognition tools for developing image-based cell detection methods.
