Christy’s PhD research aims to understand host-cell dependent adaptations of Plasmodium parasites, such as how infection of nascent (reticulocytes) Vs mature RBCs influence the Malaria parasites ability to cope with stress conditions. He uses cell biology and multi-omics approaches to undertake this new direction.
